The world of smart thermometers just got its newest member – FPOP, which is raising funds at Kickstarter as we speak.

The small device was created by four dads and former cell phone developers from Sweden who just got enough of crappy fever thermometers they couldn’t trust. So they decided to do something about it.

The FPOP promises to solve the hassle every parent faces when trying to measure the temperature of their children. It is accurate, lights up the dark and is so small that you can bring it everywhere.

Thanks to the built-in NFC capability, it is easy to connect the FPOP to a smartphone — simply tap the two and the exact temperature will be displayed. For iPhone users, the FPOP app will be able to interpret the RGB LED when FPOP is placed in front of the camera.

The project is currently raising funds at Kickstarter where a single FPOP unit could be had for $29. Check it out.
