This app aims to deliver personalized sleep solutions to night owls

SleepASAP

The newly unveiled SleepASAP mobile app is designed to help sleep strugglers identify which night owl they are, to give them personalized sleep solutions to their sleep needs. The app’s algorithms will somehow analyze user’s symptoms and personality type to identify their sleep profile, aka SleepDNA. Once that part is done, the app will suggest an individualized treatment plan, along with the nearest place to receive treatment.

SleepASAP is Big Data driven, with the app feeding information to a web-based service that learns from its users. The more people use the platform, the more accurate the results will be.

According to the project authors, SleepASAP uses deep learning technology and Natural Language Processing (NLP) based on Linguistic Enquiry and Word Count (LIWC) and Big Five personality traits. This process and the algorithm is described as a “massive innovation” and that’s why SleepASAP’s designers need the help of everyone to bring this technology to the market. To that end, they’ve turned to a crowdfunding website Indiegogo to get early customers and their feedback.

“It’s time to make the world immune to this epidemic,” the project’s Indiegogo page reads, with the goal of raising $10,000 to complete the development of SleepASAP’s app for iOS and Android.
