Xiaomi’s earlier rumored wrist band with heart rate sensor, Mi Band 1S, has been officially unveiled with a price tag of just CNY99, or some $16!

The new heart rate tracking adds to existing capabilities of tracking steps and sleep, with features like vibrating and LED notifications remaining in place. The same goes for the ability to unlock the phone when within range, and the band’s IP67-rated dust and water protection.

However, at 37 x 13.6 x 9.9 mm – the Mi Band 1S is slightly bigger than the earlier model; and it’s also a half a gram heavier.

The Mi Band 1S will be available in China starting November 11, selling alongside the original Mi Band, which is priced at CNY 69 ($11).

Beyond these two activity trackers, Xiaomi also offers a few other mHealth devices, including a smart scale and wireless blood pressure monitor. The company has also helped launch the first smart running shoes and Amazfit line of smart wearables, and has invested in two health/fitness device makers – Misfit Wearables and iHealth Lab.
