As part of its plan to launch more than 100 wearable devices this year, Fossil unveiled a new member of its Q family of products. Called Fossil Q Motion, the cylindrical-shaped device can’t help but remind us on the Misfit Ray, which was unveiled earlier this year. That, however, doesn’t come as a surprise considering that Misfit is now a Fossil subsidiary.
The Q Motion is one sexy looking device that will track one’s activity and sleep, and send the data collected to a connected smartphone or tablet (via Bluetooth). In addition, users will also benefit from various notifications that are delivered by vibrations and/or flash of the LED light.
For those looking for even more integrations, Fossil’s wearable integrates with IFTTT to control other devices, to allow users to play music, find their phone or activate the camera for a selfie. These actions can be initiated with so called “smart taps” on Q Motion.
Inside the product, there’s a coin-cell battery that will last for up to six months before it needs to be replaced. The Q Motion is a waterproof product (up to 50m), and once it hits the stores this summer – it will sell for $95.
