Dyson Pure Cool Link is fancy, connected air purifier

Dyson Pure Cool

Dyson is all about making the world around you/us clean(er). They make some amazing vacuum cleaners, hand dryers, and now we have them launching a connected air purifier.

Called Pure Cool Link, this is probably the sexiest air purifier on the planet. It’s also powerful, promising to remove 99.95 percent of indoor allergens and pollutants that can be as small as 0.1 microns. The built-in fan uses Air Multiplier technology and a DC motor to draw in the polluted air, pass it through the 360-degree Glass HEPA filter, and then release the purified air through the amplifier loop and into your home. The device has sensors at the back that detect changes in air conditions to automatically adjust the airflow in order to maintain the target air quality.

Speaking of which (target air quality), it can be adjusted and fine-tuned using the new Dyson Link app — available for iOS and Android — that also allows users to keep track of air quality history, and remotely monitor air quality inside and outside of their home. Also, there are options to set schedules, turn on or off notifications and oscillations, and enable/disable the night mode that limits the fan speed and dims the display on the bottom of the purifier. On the other hand, for those who don’t want to play with so many details, Dyson included auto mode that will allow the Pure Cool Link to react automatically to the monitored air quality. Like that’s not enough, the company promises that this same app will work with any of its future connected devices.

The Dyson Pure Cool Link is available in two sizes — the bigger tower and smaller desk model, each of which goes for $499.

Dyson, of course, is not the first company to launch a smart air purifier. Previously, mHealth Spot talked about similar products made by the likes of Xiaomi, Blueair and Air Tech.
