Medici is officially launching its HIPAA-compliant messaging app for providers and patients in all 50 states.
The application allows users to invite their existing family physician, pediatrician, dermatologist, dentist, veterinarian, mental health provider, nutritionist and other medical providers to join the Medici platform. And the same goes for providers which can similarly invite their patients to join Medici and benefit from this modernized method of communication.
“The current healthcare model in the U.S. is fragmented and frustrating for both patients and their medical providers,” Clinton Phillips, founder and CEO of Medici, said in a statement. “Medici focuses on reinventing the doctor-patient relationship and reforming how healthcare is practiced and delivered by offering patients and medical professionals a more streamlined and compliant system of communication and record-keeping.”
For patients, Medici offers an additional, direct line of communication with their medical providers, avoiding unnecessary phone calls and in-person visits, hold and wait times, conversations with administrative staff, and related costs. Also, the app provides the ability to easily request authorized prescription refills, a centralized location for medical records compiled from the time a user downloads the app, and an easy-to-use, transparent payment system integrated directly into the Medici platform.
On the other hand, medical professionals get a HIPAA-compliant messaging tool that allows for easier management of patients, accessible from anywhere. This in turn, Medici claims, leads to increased patient retention while eliminating patient visits to emergency rooms as well as telemedicine services. Additionally, the app promises reduction of overhead from administrative costs associated with medical practices.
Users can communicate safely on Medici by downloading the app for free via the App Store or Google Play. Once downloaded, users can send emails to their medical providers to request they join Medici.
The cost per interaction on the Medici platform is determined by medical providers.
