FitStar is expanding the reach of its video-based fitness app beyond iPhone users — FitStar Personal Trainer is now available to Android device owners in the U.S., with other territories coming soon.

The application “crafts personalized sessions” led by football star Tony Gonzalez that can be done anywhere, anytime. Each workout is customized to a person’s fitness level so it can support a wide range of exercises for beginners and fitness maniacs, alike.

FitStar Personal Trainer offers two personalized sessions a week and a handful of Freestyle sessions for free, while premium membership costs $7.99/month or $39.99/year.FitStar Personal Trainer for Android includes four goal-based programs: Get Strong, Get Lean, Get Moving and Daily Dose. In addition, it is also updated regularly with so called Freestyle sessions such as “10-Minute Abs,” “7-Minute Workout,” and “The FitStar 15.”

“We knew it had to be the highest quality experience we could provide, so we started from scratch to create something that feels totally at home on the Android platform,” said Dave Grijalva, Co-founder, FitStar. “Now a whole new audience can use FitStar’s groundbreaking, adaptive training technology to reach their fitness goals.”

Users also get to benefit from weekly and lifetime stats, including sessions completed, calories burned, and total workout time from the in-app dashboard. These session summaries, as well as badges you earn along the way, can be shared across social channels to stay motivated and inspire friends and family.
