Nanoplug is virtually invisible, instant-fit, user programmable and affordable hearing aid appropriate for people with mild to moderately-severe hearing loss. The device was built by a team of audiologists, engineers, and industrial designers; and has three basic parts – a microphone, microchip and receiver.
A small microphone collects sounds from the environment; microchip converts it into digital code that is then analyzed and adjusted based on user’s hearing loss, listening needs and the level of the sounds around. Finally, the signals are then converted back into sound waves and delivered to user’s ears through receiver.
Due to its extremely high surface to volume ratio, Nanoplug offers a virtually instantaneous recharge for its integrated, eco-friendly batteries.Nanoplug captures sound in the same way that ears were designed to do, and its positioning reduces the risk of internal feedback and wind noise.
Thanks to the use of technology called Acous-Tap, users can program Nanoplug for up to 4 different environment/noise settings, such as a noisy restaurant, walking or enjoying the outdoors, watching TV, and so on.
Due to its extremely high surface to volume ratio, Nanoplug offers a virtually instantaneous recharge for its integrated, eco-friendly batteries.
Nanoplug is looking to raise $80,000 through a crowdfunding campaign at Indiegogo. A single Nanoplug unit goes for $249.
