LG Watch Urbane joins the company’s smart watch line-up

LG Watch Urbane

LG unveiled its latest smart watch, the dust- and water-resistant (IP67), Android Wear-powered LG Watch Urbane. The device is touted to meld “classic look with enhanced features,” packing all of the usual sensors under its fancy hood; there are 9-axis movement sensors (gyro/accelerometer/compass), as well as barometer and PPG (Heart Rate Sensor). Additionally, it also boasts Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chip clocked at 1.2GHz, 1.3-inch circular P-OLED screen with 320×320 pixels resolution, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, stainless steel body, and a 410mAh battery. Size wise, the Urbane measures 45.5 x 52.2 x 10.9 mm.

The new device follows in the footsteps of the LG G Watch R, which was the first modern smart watch with a full circular Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display. While that model was designed with the active user in mind, the LG Watch Urbane is more formal with a thinner profile making it perfect for either men or women. Resembling a luxury timepiece, LG combined a “classic design and innovative features” to add style and convenience to everyday life while raising the “already high standards set by its predecessor.”

LG failed to mention price details in its press release; we do know that the Watch Urbane will be available in gold and silver, with additional details set to be announced in local markets at the time of availability.
