Enabled by MDLIVE and Doctor On Demand, the service will be available to for Livongo Members, beginning with Livongo for Behavioral Health, in January.

The acquisition will enable MDLIVE to better address the growing demand for online therapy and make it more efficient for payers, health systems and employers.

The company's behavioral health network now has more than 1,300 mental health professionals with contracted psychiatrists in each state.

Initially, the benefit will be available to certain Medicare Advantage plans in Georgia and South Carolina offered for the 2017 plan year.

There are two different options to choose from: virtual consultations with a local primary care physician, and MDLIVE's telehealth service.

The new MDLIVE Mobile app is now available for iOS through the iTunes App Store, and will be available for Android through Google Play by March 31.

Initially, the telehealth service is available to users in California and Michigan, with additional states and markets coming at a later date.

The solution enables the growing roster of hospital and health system clients to offer both asynchronous and synchronous virtual visits on a single platform.

The partnership makes it easier for people in Colorado and western Kansas to access health care services, either from their homes or while on the go.
